The MBA Alumni Club’s Christmas Party Smelled of Mulled Wine and Childhood Memories

Alumni, current students, and even a few of our lecturers from the MBA programs IT Management & Business Transformation and Data & Analytics for Business Management gathered at the Umbrella Bar at Prague University of Economics and Business for an evening full of connection, celebration, and holiday cheer. It was everything a proper Christmas party should be – filled with laughter, warm conversations, and a genuine sense of community.

To break the ice, our soft skills coach Jorge Cooper kicked things off with a lighthearted group game. In rotating trios, participants chatted about questions that don’t usually come up in typical networking – like what they dreamed of becoming as kids, what their biggest wish is, or which holiday gift brings back their fondest memory. Some brave souls even shared their answers with the whole group, setting a warm and friendly tone for the rest of the evening.

The night continued in a cozy holiday spirit – complete with mulled wine, traditional Czech “wasp nest” cookies (vosí hnízda), and a festive costume contest. Amid a sea of Santa hats, Christmas sweaters, and snowflake socks, the crowd voted for their favorite costume – and once again, current Data MBA student Vojtěch Marszalek took home the win. Congrats, Vojta!

More than anything, the evening reflected the strength of our community. Several students currently working on their final MBA capstone projects came to share their progress, support one another, and draw inspiration from alumni. The Christmas gathering was a lovely reminder that what truly sets both of our MBA programs apart is the strong, supportive network that continues well beyond graduation.
