What’s Next for Education in the Age of Technology?

We asked the hard questions at the April meetup at MSD.

The April meetup “Shaping the Future”, co-hosted with MSD Czech Republic, was originally planned as an intimate event for 30 people. In the end, nearly 60 participants showed up, brought incredible energy, and demonstrated a strong will to co-create the future of education. Among the speakers were also lecturers from our MBA programs.

Ota Novotny raised bold yet essential questions about the inevitable changes facing even the Czech education system. He pointed out that the traditional model of universities as gatekeepers of knowledge is gradually breaking down, and that prestigious diplomas are no longer a guarantee of success or relevance. He focused on what these shifts mean for skill-building, educational choices, and careers – especially in the tech space. He posed a provocative question: Is five years in a lecture hall really the best preparation for a world that changes every six months?

Hana Kasa from ČSOB then spoke about strategic approaches to lifelong learning and personal growth, emphasizing the alignment of individual goals with professional demands. Ondřej Bothe from MSD Czech Republic highlighted the importance of continuous self-development, adaptability, and practical strategies for keeping pace with the ever-evolving world of data. And finally, Marián Kamenišťák from the Engineering Leaders Community revealed the critical role of communities in developing leadership and driving innovation in the tech sector.

Following the presentations, a panel discussion sparked dozens of curious questions from an open-minded audience – and the debate continued informally during the networking session. The vibrant atmosphere is captured in the photo gallery by Martin Weinpold.
